The Dominion Bell in Gage Park

Installed in 1913, The Dominion Bell was originally part of the clock tower that was located on the Dominion Building on Queen East Street. It was later restored and installed in Gage Park.

The Veterans Monument in Gage Park

Carved in 2005 from the trunk of a red oak tree, The Veterans Monument in Gage Park was carved by Jim Menken, a local artist. Modeled after WWII veteran Bill Bettridge, it is a frequented monument in Brampton which recognizes those that have served and continue to serve.

The Etobicoke River Retaining Wall

The Etobicoke Diversion Channel was built in the early 1950’s, between downtown Church Street and Wellington Street. A retaining wall was constructed to prevent flooding from occurring, but the end result was the creek being sealed off from some of downtown Brampton and the nearby parks. What’s left of the retaining wall is located on Main Street, and you can take historical tours through this area.

The CNR Station

Located in Brampton is what used to be the former Canadian National Railway station (CNR). Now it is known as the Brampton GO Station. It is almost two stories high, it is made of brick and it was built back in 1907. When you take a tour of the station, you’ll notice wide arches that are part of the Romanesque Revival design style. You’ll get some pretty interesting Brampton facts from this tour.
